B.      Curriculum and/or Short Course Development

1.       EAS 2420 – Environmental Measures of Urban and Regional Change. The objective of this course is to identify and quantify the physical and chemical contributions of natural systems to urban environments, and to measure the impacts that feedback on these systems. The course is targeted towards EAS majors on the policy tract, and non-EAS majors interested in learning how their personal and professional activities can affect the environment. First offered, Spring 2003. Previously offered as EAS 2803 – Indicators of Urban and Regional Sustainability.

2.       EAS 8803 – Introduction to Environmental Complexity. The objective of the course is to introduce students to the concepts of environmental complexity through a tangible exploration of the inter-relationships between the natural (air, land, water, and biomes), human (demography, economy, equity, and sustainability), and built systems (energy, transportation, water resources, waste management, and land use). This course was partially funded with a grant from the FY04 Georgia Tech Teaching Fellows Program.
